The Higher School of Humanitas in Sosnowiec was established in 1997 under the name Higher School of Management and Marketing. Its founder is Aleksander Dudek, who serves as the Academy's Chancellor.

The academy is 11 faculties of education, many specializations, an offer of postgraduate studies, a doctoral seminar and the possibility of conferring doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in two disciplines - legal sciences and management and quality sciences. Humanitas also includes two MBA and LLM degree programs.

The university has 2 foreign branches in the Czech Republic - in Vsetin, where first- and second-degree studies in psychology are implemented, and in Prague, where single master's degree studies in psychology are implemented.

The university has almost 3,500 students, 72 percent of whom are women, and 16.4 percent are foreigners.   

701 students left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 1,038 male and female students began their studies, including 269 foreigners.

The Humanitas Academy employs 93 full-time academic staff, 61 percent of whom are women.
