Description: The Lower Silesian College of Education has been operating in Wroclaw since 1997 (formerly the Lower Silesian College of Education of the Common Knowledge Society). The founders were members of the regional Wroclaw branch of the Common Knowledge Society. The first majors in which it educated up to the bachelor's degree level were pedagogy and special education. At present, it offers 23 majors and 93 specializations in bachelor's, master's and engineering studies, as well as more than 100 postgraduate courses. The university is authorized to confer doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in 8 disciplines. The university has more than 8,200 students, 66.6 percent of whom are women, and 6.6 percent are foreigners. More than 1.4 thousand graduates left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, nearly 3.7 thousand male and female students began their studies, including 263 foreigners. The university employs 111 full-time academic staff, 54 percent of whom are women.
