The university was founded in 2002 as the B. Prus University of Warsaw for the Humanities.

Candidates for studies can choose from numerous specializations in journalism, psychology pedagogy or economics.

The university currently has 396 students, 83.8 percent of whom are women, and 4.8 percent are foreigners.

The university building last year saw 93 graduates leave. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 70 male and female students began their studies, including 12 foreigners. 

The university employs 22 academic staff, 63.6 percent of whom are women.
