Description: The University of Opole was founded in 1994 as a merger of the Powstańców Śląskich Pedagogical University and the Opole branch of the Catholic University of Lublin in Nysa. The University of Opole consists of twelve faculties and seventeen scientific institutes, as well as 12 interuniversity units, including, among others, the International Research and Development Center for Agriculture and Agro-Food Industry, the University Center for Knowledge and Technology Transfer, the Main Library, the Foreign Language Department and the University's Physical Education and Sports Department. The university offers nearly 80 majors, with a predominance of humanities majors. It educates students in both full-time and part-time studies. The university has nearly 8,700 students, 71.1 percent of whom are women, and 9.3 percent are foreigners. More than 2 thousand graduates left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 3.2 thousand male and female students began their studies, including 355 foreigners. The university employs 752 full-time academic staff, 52 percent of whom are women. The university's graduates include DJ Adamus, a DJ and TV personality, and Magdalena Ogórek, a politician, journalist and TV presenter
