Description: UKSW's roots go back to the Academy of Catholic Theology, from which a broad-profile university was created in 1999. At present, it has 12 faculties: biology and environmental sciences, mathematical and natural sciences, school of exact sciences, medical collegium medicalum, historical sciences, humanities, pedagogical sciences, law and administration, social and economic sciences, and four so-called ecclesiastical faculties - Theological, Canon Law, Family Studies and Christian Philosophy, which, in addition to the supervision of the MEiN, are subject to the authority of the ecclesiastical authorities. The youngest unit is the Faculty of Medicine, Collegium Medicum UKSW. Students at UKSW acquire knowledge in the full-time and part-time system, at the Uniform Master's Degree Program, as well as first and second degree programs. The university also provides opportunities to improve professional qualifications in postgraduate studies and in the Doctoral School. The university currently has more than 9,900 students, 64.4 percent of whom are women, and 2.3 percent are foreigners. More than 1.7 thousand graduates left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, nearly 4.5 thousand male and female students began their studies, including 110 foreigners. The university employs 714 full-time academic staff, 41 percent of whom are women. Graduates of UKSW include Janusz Pasierb - Catholic clergyman, poet and essayist, Józef Życiński - Roman Catholic bishop, philosopher, publicist, Kamil Sipowicz - historian of philosophy, journalist, poet, sculptor and painter, Teresa Piotrowska - politician and local government official.
