Description: The University of Rzeszow - the largest university in the Subcarpathian region - began its activities on September 1, 2001, under an act of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland of June 7, 2001. The university is one of Poland's younger universities, but continues a long-standing academic tradition. It was formed from the Higher School of Pedagogy in Rzeszow, which began in 1963, the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin (Rzeszow Branch established in 1969) and the Faculty of Economics in Rzeszow of the Hugo Kołłątaj Agricultural Academy in Cracow (in existence since 1973). In its offer it has 68 majors The university currently has more than 14,800 students, 68 percent of whom are women, and 2.3 percent are foreigners. The university's building last year saw 4259 graduates leave. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 6032 male and female students began their studies, including 153 foreigners. The university employs 1187 academic teachers, 54.3 percent of whom are women.
