Description: The University of Zielona Gora was established on September 1, 2001 from the merger of Zielona Gora University of Technology and Tadeusz Kotarbinski Pedagogical University, and as of 2017 a Sulechów Branch Faculty was established. Currently, the university is made up of 13 faculties: Artistic, Construction, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, Economics and Management, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Physics and Astronomy, Humanistic, Medical and Health Sciences, Mathematics, Informatics and Econometrics, Mechanical, Biological Sciences, Pedagogy, Psychology and Sociology, Law and Administration, the University of Zielona Gora's Faculty of Pedagogy in Sulechów All faculties have the right to confer bachelor's or engineering and master's degrees. The University provides opportunities to enjoy a wide range of scientific, cultural and sports activities. Students participate in seminar discussion meetings, camps and excursions. They also participate in scientific research. The university currently has nearly 8,700 students, 55.8 percent of whom are women, and 2.7 percent are foreigners. 2.1 thousand graduates left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, more than 3 thousand male and female students began their studies, including 117 foreigners. The university employs 883 full-time academic staff, more than 45 percent of whom are women. University of Zielona Gora graduates include Tomasz Kammel - journalist and TV presenter.
