Description: The Ignacy Lukasiewicz Rzeszow University of Technology is the oldest and largest technical university in southeastern Poland. It was established on October 1, 1974, but its origins date back to 1951, when the Evening School of Engineering was established. In its anniversary year of 2016, when it celebrated its 65th anniversary, it was granted the status of a technical university. The Polytechnic educates at seven faculties. These are: Faculty of Construction, Environmental Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Applied Physics, Faculty of Mechanical and Technological Engineering and Faculty of Management. Since 1976, Rzeszow University of Technology - as the only university in the country - has been training civil aviation pilots. Student training takes place at the Rzeszow University of Technology's Aviation Training Center in Jasionka, in accordance with a training program approved by the Civil Aviation Authority that meets the requirements of European regulations. The university currently has nearly 10.7 thousand students, 39 percent of whom are women, and 1.3 percent are foreigners. The university building last year saw 3085 graduates leave. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 3815 male and female students began their studies, including 54 foreigners. The university employs 796 academic teachers, 36 percent of whom are women.
