The Warsaw University of Life Sciences is the country's oldest agricultural and natural science university, dating back to 1816. The school is a thriving academic center, enjoying the recognition and unflagging interest of young people and teaching staff at home and abroad.

The university offers 40 fields of study (including 9 conducted in English): from natural sciences and technology, to veterinary science, social sciences or economics, and educates students in full-time, part-time, doctoral and postgraduate programs, as well as international student exchange.

Its modern research centers, studios and laboratories, as well as the presence of prominent experts, allow it to educate and conduct scientific research at a world level and transfer the results to the economy, which influences innovation and progress in, among others, agriculture, food economy or medicine, and contributes to the growing importance of Polish science in the world.

The university currently has nearly 15,200 students, 57.5 percent of whom are women, and 7 percent are foreigners.

Almost 3.9 thousand graduates left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, more than 6 thousand male and female students began their studies, including 447 foreigners.

The university employs 1,249 full-time academic staff, 56.4 percent of whom are women.

Among the graduates of SGGW are Jerzy Starak - an entrepreneur, he launched such brands as Nutrica, Colgate, Palmolive, and Bols vodka, and bought Polpharma, or Marek Trela - a veterinarian, former president of the Janów Podlaski stud farm.
