Kazimierz Wielki University is one of the youngest broad-profile universities in the country, in this capacity it began operations on September 1, 2005, but a 50-year tradition stands behind it, dating back to 1969. The first indexes were given to 300 students. 

UKW is a broad-profile university, which means that we educate in the fields of science, natural sciences, humanities, pedagogy, as well as sports and music education. The rich educational offer consists of more than 60 fields of study, carried out at three levels of education: bachelor's and engineering studies (first degree), complementary master's studies (second degree) and doctoral training in doctoral school. The university also conducts courses and about 30 postgraduate courses, broadening qualifications and granting new authorizations.

The university currently has nearly 7,000 students, 66 percent of whom are women, and 4.2 percent are foreigners.

Last year, 1,623 graduates left the university building. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 3477 male and female students, including 160 foreigners, began their studies. 

The university employs 598 academic staff, 52.3 percent of whom are women.
