Warsaw Medical University is one of the largest medical universities in Poland with a history dating back to 1809. The educational offer, created on the basis of modern curricula, includes 16 faculties in Polish, 3 in English, 14 postgraduate studies, SGH-WUM MBA in Health Care, and numerous specialization, improvement and continuing education courses.
The university has more than 9,7 thousand students, 74.5 percent of whom are women, and 8.1 percent are foreigners.
More than 2.2 thousand graduates left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, more than 2.8 thousand male and female students began their studies, including 223 foreigners.
The university employs 1,300 full-time academic staff, almost 58 percent of whom are women. The academic staff is made up of the leading Polish scientists - qualified specialists who care for the lives and health of patients, using nationally and globally innovative treatment methods.
Among the prominent figures who studied within the university's walls were Irena Eris - entrepreneur, pharmacist, doctor of pharmacy and founder and co-owner of the Dr. Irena Eris brand, Tadeusz Tolloczko - surgeon and endocrinologist, Zbigniew Religa - cardiac surgeon and politician, as the first in Poland to perform heart transplantation surgery.
