Description: The State Academy of Applied Sciences in Chelm was established on the basis of the Decree of the Council of Ministers of July 24, 2001 on the establishment of the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Chelm. The purpose of the academy is to educate for the needs of the labor market. Therefore, it takes steps to cooperate with local industry and actively seeks investors willing to build production facilities in the Bug River region. The university's educational offer includes both humanities and typically technical majors. The pride of the university is primarily aviation specialties. The university currently has more than 1.9 thousand students, 48.8 percent of whom are women, and 7.3 percent are foreigners. 451 graduates left the university building last year. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 819 male and female students began their studies, including 69 foreigners. The university employs 138 academic staff, 51.4 percent of whom are women.
